We are writing this incident today 9/21/2017 to say what happened concerning our English Mastiff at his appointment today.
Yes we are sorry for anyone in that office that had gotten any cuts or scrapes from him, but I am very sympathetic for my dog who had gotten extremely dramatized, had to get muzzled to finish the appointment, and ended up pooping himself multiple times. I understand this is an extremely large breed, but Mastiffs are extremely Sensitive and very loving dogs but are sometimes hard to handle. This office was the most unprofessional practice I have ever seen or been to. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I am very sorry for any animals that get treated like the way my dog did today.
Fast and so friendly to both 2 legged and 4 legged friends.
Let's start with taking note our Mastiff is very skiddish, stubborn, and an epileptic. His appointment was for blood draws for heart worm and to get his up to date shots. The woman doctor that was on duty and on our paperwork forms was Erin Kuehn, she insisted on approaching our dog with aggressive leash pulling within the first two minutes she met him. She kept the aggressive pulling going on for a few minutes until she physically got tired and noticed my 190lb dog wasn't moving anywhere. She insisted on having the whole family leave the room which was myself, my husband, and my 4 yr old daughter so that she could give the round of shots to him alone. After about 15-20 mins of us not being in the room , my husband got called to the back office to talk to the doctor. Dr Erin Kuehn was trying to tell my husband that while perusing the shots our dog bit her forehead. To him it looked nothing more then a scratch on her face. If a 190lb dog wanted to attack someone I'm sure more of a puncture would of been noticed. Why a complete stranger to this big breed would insist on being alone in a room to give multiple shots to a skiddish dog is beyond me. Never even heard of!
I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who owns and loves animals, big and small. The staff and doctors have so much compassion and knowledge for your animal. Priced very well and the greatest care for your beloved "family member!"
I’ve had such a good experience with these folks. They’re always kind and the treat my cat well. When she needed a few x-rays, I checked the average price online and their price was on the low end of the spectrum. My cat still doesn’t like going to the vet but I really feel like she’s in great hands. I recently moved but I’m going to keep taking my pets here.
This place is incredible!! I have an exotic dog that is some what rare in the u.s.a. and the staff not only knew the breed, they embraced him. They are by far the nicest staff I've ever come across at a veterinarian office. Helpful whenever I have questions, accommodating when he needs to be seen on short notice, and affordable! I recently moved 45 minutes away (one way) and I still take my pup here, I will go no place else as long as this place is here! Thank you Lyon Veterinarian clinic for all that you do!! Ziggy loves you!
